Description
Marble is building the future of earth observation—fast, autonomous UAV systems that deliver better data than satellites at a fraction of the cost. We’re post-revenue, post-R&D, and entering scale mode. We need a CTO who can match the pace and ambition.
This is a rare opportunity to take a CTO role with co-founder-level influence, joining a small, elite team at the inflection point. You'll own the technical engine of the company: guiding the roadmap, growing the team, coaching the talent, and partnering with the CEO to scale us from £1M/year to £100M/year.
It’s a big job for someone who’s ready to do the hard things that build generational companies.
What you’ll do
- Own our product and engineering organisation—from system architecture to execution
- Be accountable for R&D delivery, including major projects oversight and future tech initiatives
- Build and lead the technical and operational teams, hiring and mentoring exceptional talent
- Partner with the CEO to define company strategy, especially around product and growth
- Co-create the company culture, values, and operating principles
- Act as the technical adult in the room—a coach, mentor, and thought partner
- Support BD, sales, and fundraising efforts as a visible, credible technical leader
- Evolve into a true co-founder-level operator, ready to scale Marble through its next 10x
Requirements
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have a strong background in hardware/software product development, ideally in aerospace, robotics, or high-stakes systems
- Have led complex technical programs end-to-end—think multi-year or six-figure scope, with clear accountability for outcomes
- Can point to projects where you were the person keeping it all on track—from aligning cross-functional teams to managing budgets and deadlines
- Bring real startup or early-stage leadership experience, or you’ve been the driving force behind an ambitious internal initiative
- Thrive in ambiguous, high-velocity environments and know how to bring clarity to chaos
- Care deeply about mentoring, team building, and creating a culture of ownership
- Think clearly, move fast, and always orient toward outcomes
- Want to be part of something that actually matters
Bonus points for:
- Knowledge of UAV regulations and compliance in maritime and defence sectors
- Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive technological advancements in product development
- Networks within the UAV industry or related aviation sectors
Why now?
We’ve just crossed the threshold from R&D into revenue, with a defensible product, real-world deployments, and a massive pipeline. The fundamentals are there—this is your chance to help scale the system, shape the team, and build a legacy business alongside a highly ambitious founder.
