As an Avionics Integration Engineer, you will design and route harnessing for flight and ground test applications. You will own the hardware for HITL tables and other significant avionics system testbeds. You will plan and drive the on-vehicle integration of a wide variety of Avionics products. You will work closely with electronics designers, software engineers, structures engineers, propulsion engineers, mission management, and other teams to make exciting programs successful on tight timelines.
Responsibilities
- Design harnesses and review harness designs for flight, HITL, and test. Contribute to the development of Impulse’s next-generation harnessing production line
- Design and execute on HITL tables and other major system testbeds
- Own the planning for how avionics gets integrated onto Impulse’s vehicle
- Support integrated vehicle operations, including writing procedures, maintaining vehicle test racks, and being present for major vehicle avionics test
- Write procedures for customer payload integration, and support customers when they’re on site to integrate their payload
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related
- 2+ years experience designing and executing on harnessing
- Proficiency writing work instructions, procedures, and test plans
- Demonstrated experience with a drawing creation/release process
- Demonstrated experience delivering on tight schedules and dynamically responding to new challenges
- Strong team player with good communications and conflict resolution skills, able to work with a wide range of other teams
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related
- Experience working in a clean room or setting up clean room related processes
- Familiarity with Altium Designer and/or reading circuit board schematics
- Demonstrated experience with NX/teamcenter
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
