Your role
- Design and development of mechanical components for cutting edge robotic systems (force-sensitive arms, grippers, tactile autonomous mobile platforms etc)
- Participate in all stages of hardware product lifecycle, ranging from project planning, prototyping, design, and all the way to series production
- Perform design optimization based on computational analysis of the mechanical system under various loads cases
- Evaluate the design by employing rapid prototyping and extensive testing in a laboratory environment
- Assembly and commissioning of mechatronic prototypes
- Creating technical reports, impact analyses, certification and production related documents
- Learn and excel hardware development on a unique technology stack enabling safe human robot interaction
Your experience and qualifications
- University degree in mechanical engineering or similar (Bachelor/Master/Diploma)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in 3D design, 2D drafting, and dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) of parts for machining, casting, injection molding, sheet metal forming, and welding.
- Advanced knowledge in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Good technical know-how, in at least one of the following fields:
- Design and development of drivetrains
- FEM-Analysis and screw calculations
- Design optimization to improve performance or reduce BOM costs
- Strong analytical skills and experience in robotic industries preferred.
- Bonus for prior experience with mobile robotics and electronics
- Passion for developing innovative solutions as part of an interdisciplinary, cross-functional team. Maintaining a good balance between independent methods of working and teamwork
- High personal standard for performance and drive for producing required deliverables in a structured and well-defined manner
- Strong communication skills in English, German is optional
