Location: Basingstoke (UK).
Position Summary: We are seeking a talented Robotics / Embedded System Engineer with a passion for UAVs to join our team in Basingstoke, UK. In such a role, you will collaborate closely with our hardware and software engineers to design and integrate new components as well as entire robotics systems. Responsible for customisations, strategy implementation and technical flight testing in the UK and abroad, you will work with the latest UAV technologies, staying at the forefront of your field in order to meet the needs of global customers.
Candidate Profile:
- 2 – 4 years’ work experience in robotics / embedded system development.
- C/C++ and is familiar with Linux and ROS.
- Familiar with sensor integration and programming.
- ArduPilot / PX4 experience and MAVLink.
- At least 5 years of experience building / flying UAVs is beneficial.
- Responsibilities:
- Assembly and integration of sensors / payloads, complete systems and documentation.
- Collaborate in designing, developing and testing software for our autonomous robotics systems using C++.
- Assist with customer UAV strategy implementation and troubleshooting where required.
- Embed network systems, long-range video transmission and control centre infrastructure.
- Research new technologies and techniques to improve our development process.
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics / Electrical / Embedded Systems or related field.
- Strong understanding of UAV software engineering principles and debugging techniques.
- Familiarity in Python, ROS, and CAD design.
- Relevant experience in UAV system full lifecycle (from prototyping to final product) is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- English speaking proficiency, right to work in the UK and Visa-free travel to EU.
