The Test Engineer is an essential part of our robotic design and build teams. This person will establish test procedures, coordinate testing of products under development by thoroughly checking materials, procedures and mechanical, electrical or software systems to ensure that customers get high-quality, functional products.
- Test Planning: Collaborate with product development teams to understand product requirements and specifications. Create comprehensive test plans, including test cases and test scenarios, to validate drone functionality and performance
- Test Execution: Conduct various types of tests, including functional, performance, stress, durability, and regression testing, on drone prototypes and production models. Perform manual testing and, when applicable, utilize automated testing tools to streamline the testing process.
- Data Analysis: Identify any deviations from expected outcomes and work closely with the development team to investigate root causes and propose appropriate solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Work alongside the Product team to define and implement quality standards and procedures. Ensure adherence to industry best practices and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve issues found during testing and collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve identified problems effectively.
- Test Automation: Continuously explore opportunities to automate testing processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual efforts. Develop and maintain automated test scripts as needed.
- Product Improvement: Provide valuable feedback to the product development team based on test findings. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to enhance drone performance, reliability, and overall user experience.
- Documentation: Create detailed test reports outlining test methodologies, results, and any identified defects or improvements. Maintain comprehensive documentation of testing procedures and results.
- Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in drone technology. Proactively suggest innovative ideas to improve testing processes and product quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, testing methodologies, and quality assurance practices
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work methodically in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for innovation and a keen interest in drone technology.
