We are looking for a Field Engineer to join the Automation business area of our Genoa office.
The Automation BU is an active part of the technological evolution of cutting-edge automated sorting solutions for airports, couriers and postal services.
The person will be responsible for the following activities:
- management of all technical aspects of the construction site
- respond to the Site Manager in providing support to Suppliers and resources during the installation, commissioning, testing and non-conformance management phases;
- support the Site Manager in the planning phase and in the verification of the progress of the activities on the construction site;
- participate in planning meetings with Suppliers and in progress meetings;
- manage, in agreement with the Site Manager, the start of weekly installation activities carried out by the Suppliers;
- make the materials necessary for construction available, by withdrawing from the warehouse, or alternatively by interfacing with the Warehouse Manager in the company or the Supplier or
- establish the methods for verifying the work carried out, in compliance with the project documentation;
- support the Commissioning Engineer in the verification and control activities of the field I/O signal connection
- contribute in agreement with the Site Manager to the commissioning and testing activities;
- support the Supplier in the installation phases and in the checks of compliance with the quality requirements with respect to the documentation;
- provide the Site Manager with the required evidence and records;
- activate the management of non-conformities using the tools in force;
- support the Site Manager in ensuring that all health, safety and environmental requirements are met.
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma: electrical or electronic expert - Mandatory
- Nice to have: Degree in Electronic Engineering, possibly specializing in automation and controls
Seniority:
- Expert:3-4 years of experience in the process automation sector in the construction and commissioning of industrial plants.
Technical/IT knowledge and skills :
- Strong basic scientific skills
- Knowledge of sensor systems, optical, inductive and laser (technical and performance characteristics of sensors), electric, asynchronous, stepper and brushless motors
- Operation and programming of the main motion controls (Siemens, Rockwell, OMRON, ELMO) and drives for both asynchronous and synchronous motors, field buses (Profinet/Profibus, CAN) and data transmission systems.
- Office package and Autocad
- Organizational and external supplier control skills

- Assertiveness and resilience
Language skills:
- English: written and spoken, operational.
- Second foreign language: appreciated
Other (e.g. Availability to travel…):

- Certifications: typical of the required activity (First aid course, Preposto course, PES / PAV / PEI Electrical work safety course)
- Driving licence: B or higher
