We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Development Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering to join our Robotics Sensors team. As a Product Development Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, prototyping, and refining sensors that enable our robots to perceive and interact with their environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, electrical engineers, and roboticists, to develop state-of-the-art sensor technologies that enhance the capabilities and performance of our robotic systems.

Who you are

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial experience with a proven track record of successful development projects
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
  • Excellent knowledge of core concepts and principles of analog and digital signal processing, and industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, Profinet)
  • Solid experience with computer-aided design for PCBs (Altium), Ideally with more than 5 big projects and experience with SMD components and flexible PCBs
  • Good practical experience with soldering and prototyping and testing circuit boards
  • Good knowledge of low-level programming and version control systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex and state-of-the-art electronic systems and good-problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills

What you will do

  • Electronics design and development with a focus on analog to digital conversion, and signal conditioning for low-level voltage signals
  • Organize a full lifecycle product development, including design, development, test prototypes, manufacturing, and implementation
  • Develop systems and components that meet needs and requirements and prepare outline designs
  • Organize experiments methodically, analyze data, and interpret results
  • Review the final product’s overall performance, reliability, and safety
  • Collect feedback from operators and feedback from users
  • Create product reports and documentation
  • Stay informed about new theories, methods, and technologies
