About the Role

Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you will have the rare and phenomenal opportunity to design and build new ideas that will challenge the status quo and define the future of the UAS industry. You will be given the freedom to be as creative and innovative as possible, developing and testing cutting edge technology for a new and rapidly growing industry. As an engineer within a startup you could take on a variety of roles and gain a broad range of experience. We are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable in their role and keen to learn on the job soaking up new expertise and implementing it in real time.

Typical aero-mechanical engineering tasks may include:

  • Solving small scale fixed-wing and multi-copter aerodynamic challenges.
  • Developing and optimising novel concepts and processes.
  • Analysing cutting edge designs with advanced simulations.
  • Rapid prototyping and testing.
  • Designing for manufacture.

Requirements

  • Be able to travel to our office in Glasgow.
  • Desire and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Capable of working independently with good job autonomy, initiative, self-discipline, and drive.
  • Ability to continually prioritise and multi-task in a dynamic, creative, fast paced environment.
  • Detail orientated and a passion for excellence.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Proficiency in CFD software.

Nice to Haves

  • Inquisitive and a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skills.
  • Previous experience working within a start up.
  • Established knowledge of the operation and manufacture of UAS or small aircraft.
  • Experience in designing for manufacture.
  • Experience with additive and/or composite manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
