Kontrop is looking for a VP of R&D and Engineering to lead the company's technological and engineering activities, while combining technological innovation, engineering excellence, and meeting the organization's goals.
The position requires in-depth technological understanding of the company's areas of activity, broad engineering management, the ability to build and lead development teams, a systemic vision, and the ability to operate well in a multi-disciplinary matrix environment.
Reporting to the company's CEO.
Areas of responsibility:
- Senior management team member and partner in formulating and leading the company's strategy.
- Managing department managers and leading R&D and engineering teams in diverse fields: optronics, electronics, mechanics, control, analytics, software.
- Responsibility for the company's technological roadmap.
- Leading innovation and continuous improvement processes through the implementation of management tools, standards and procedures.
- Technological risk management and quality assurance throughout the product life cycle.
- Matrix work and work interfaces with all divisions in the organization.
Requirements:
- 5 years or more experience as VP of R&D and Engineering in a multidisciplinary technology/defense company or 10 years or more experience in management positions in development departments in a multidisciplinary company in the defense sector.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering in the fields of electronics/electro-optics/physics/mechanics/computer science - required; Master's degree - an advantage.
- In-depth understanding of multidisciplinary systems development processes - mandatory. Familiarity with electro-optical systems - an advantage.
- Ability to manage large and diverse teams and lead long-term technological planning.
- Systemic insight and ability to make decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
- Ability to work in a team, management and leadership skills, high interpersonal communication and leadership ability in a multi-interface environment.
